Jayita’s musical journey began at the tender age of four, guided lovingly by her mother, Smt. Leela Dutta. By age six, she began formal training, studying diligently throughout her formative years and later with esteemed gurus across India. A versatile vocalist across multiple genres, Jayita has performed in India, the United States, and Canada, while training students internationally.

Musical Highlights
Recognized as a versatile, classically trained vocalist, performer, and music teacher
Earned a Sangeet Visharad degree from Chandigarh University in classical vocal music (graduating with distinction).
Selected as an empaneled artist with the West Bengal Ministry of Information and Cultural Affairs in 1986.
Performed extensively across India, the United States (including Dallas, New York, and California, New Jersey and Philadelphia etc), and Canada (Ottawa and Toronto).
Chosen through a nationwide process to present Thumri and Dadra in the Purab Ang Gayaki tradition in Banaras, India.
Featured on regional and national television, with performances broadcast on DD Bangla and DD Bharati.
Released an EP (INRECO) and a devotional CD (Bihaan Music) through professional labels in India
Received special recognition at the International Youth Festival for outstanding contributions to society.
